Historic buildings are precious cultural properties consisting of our ancestors’ culture, arts, science and technology, and many other historic values. They are evidence of the history and illustration of cultural value and spirit. We could appreciate more than their unique styles and attractiveness, but also about how much a nation had accomplished in the past with its superior technology and cultural development. The topic is developed to enhance students’ knowledge of historic buildings, leading them to be inspired by the aesthetic designs. Through this essay competition, we encourage them to share their understandings of historic buildings and to develop basic concepts of preserving the historic value. In addition to the better understanding of historic buildings, students participating in this competition may also develop a more articulated writing ability. Purpose and Objective
